In order to help achieve this goal, we have partnered with Fit Minds® to offer our clients cognitive stimulation therapy (CST): a new, innovative approach to brain fitness that can help seniors with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Regular use of CST has been proven to improve levels of mental activity, while reducing the risk of developing cognitive impairments brought on by such diseases as Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

What Is Fit Minds®?
  • Fit Minds® is a program created for people with dementia, Alzheimer’s or other neurological conditions It is based on the science of neuroplasticity and can be customized to the individual’s needs.
  • Fit Minds® challenges individuals to extend their cognitive abilities and build mental strength through interactive brain activities.
  • The program also provides fun and interactive challenges that strengthens brain resilience through social settings.
  • Fit Minds® focuses on all five areas of cognition, which helps to strengthen brain health.
  • The CST program can be used by both healthy people and people with dementia.

Fit Minds Programs
Interact® Individual Program – Person-Centered Care

The Interact® Individual program is a CST program for people suffering with dementia. It aims to slow disease progression through human interaction, and helps client maintain quality of life.

Each time the caregiver works with the client, they participate in activities in the five areas of cognition: Language and Music, Visual/Spatial Orientation, Memory, Critical Thinking and Computation. The sessions are personalized to the client’s interests and expanded throughout the program.

The Interact® Individual program is available online through a secure portal and can be printed and used by the client either during the session or through practices in between sessions. This program is delivered by a certified Fit Minds® Cognitive Coach.

Stay Sharp™ Program – Keep Engaged Stay Sharp™

This is a social CST program that is done in a group setting, often conducted in retirement communities and homes. The program’s goal is to promote cognitive resilience and better brain fitness for healthy seniors.

The Stay Sharp™ Program includes:

  • A new session plan each week with activities that can printed off (52 in the year).
  • A weekly challenge called brain health lifestyle® that promotes healthy lifestyle changes for the brain.
  • A kit including customized cards and tote bag.
  • On-going access to training portal for an unlimited number of Caregivers that can offer the program.
Interact® Group Program – Build Connections

The Interact® Group program is designed for professional caregivers working in assisted living and long term care homes. It is a group cognitive stimulation therapy program for seniors suffering from dementia.

The program includes:

  • Four new session plans and activity downloads per week (two focused on mild to moderate cognitive impairments and two focused on moderate to severe impairments).
  • A kit including customized cards and tote bag.
  • On-going access to training portal for an unlimited number of Caregivers that can offer the program.

The Interact Group program provides essential face time – a key element for reducing anxiety and depression.
